Dear Parents,
I hope everyone was able to enjoy the Labor Day holiday. September is here and will go quickly, especially with Oktoberfest coming in a little over two and a half weeks. Remember that this is our main fundraiser of the year. Everyone is expected and needed to help in one way or another. All classrooms have a game booth in which a parent of that room needs to manage for a time during the day. Schedule your time with your room coordinator. Other needs will have to be met, since this is a day for the entire community of Waxahachie and surrounding areas. Keep track of your volunteer hours. Remember that each family needs 40 hours of volunteer time.
Some have asked what they can do for volunteer hours. Obviously, the need right away is the Oktoberfest. If you have time during the day or on weekends before the Oktoberfest, call Beverly Lincks at 972-816-9683. Help is always needed. Other needs around the school could be helping with Pizza lunches on Fridays, helping put books in order in the library or even dusting in the library, morning or evening watering of plants in the front or in the back by the back door, helping teachers with special activities during the week, driving on field trips. Usually, help is needed somewhere.
Calendars are sent out each month to mark hours of volunteer time. So, keep track, and return them to school.
We congratulate Stephanie and James Holloway on the birth of little Valerie this summer. Valerie's big sister, Sylvia, is in 4K. We also congratulate Susan and Dan Shnowske on the birth of little Gabriel. His big brothers are Michael (6th), David (4th), Kevin (at home) and his big sister, Elizabeth, in Kinder. Remember that tuition is always due on the first of each month, but you have until the 20th to pay. After the 20th, a late fee is charged.
Thursday is Grandparents/Grandfriends morning. Mass will be in the PFC at 8:00. They will have a reception following Mass, followed by visits to their darlings' classrooms until 10:45.
Have a great week. Remember to pray as a family. Remember to keep all those affected by the hurricane in your prayers.

OKTOBERFEST IS ONLY TWO WEEKS AWAY!
Have you sold all your raffle tickets? If you have, find Cathy Workman, and get more! --- Remember, if you sell $30 of tickets by this Thursday, September 4th, you will get one "Free Dress" pass. Don't forget, classes can win prizes, too. The class with the highest percentage of sales will get a Dippin' Dots Party, and the class with the highest total number of tickets sold will get a Pizza Party from CiCi's Pizza.
Please be sure to send money to your child's Room Mom for the auction basket. Also, sign up for your time to work the game booth for your class. We'll need everyone's help, so sign up early, and get the time slot you want.
Sponsorships are still available, and we still need donations for both the Live and Silent Auctions.
Finally, we need volunteers in many areas! Be on the look-out for sign-up sheets, or please contact Beverly Lincks, Tom Bugg or Cathy Workman, and let them know how you want to help make this Oktoberfest our most successful to date.
