Dear Parents,

We have not yet received all bills for Oktoberfest.  I know we are anxiously awaiting the numbers.   We just have to be a little more patient.  The bill collectors just don't know how much we all put into the great day.   Their time is not our time!   J

Tomorrow you will receive letters pertaining to our first quarter conferences, which are mandatory.  Please fill out and turn in by Friday of this week.  Your preferred time will be on a first-come, first-served basis as closely as possible.  Teachers will make note of the day returned for conferences.  After all are received, I will make the schedules, then send confirmation of conference time to you.

Friday at 2:15, we will celebrate the Blessing of Animals.  This has been a big event for us.  All of God's creatures are welcomed at that time, not before.  J

Please have them leashed or contained in some manner.  The blessing will occur in the back of the school by the shed.  Students will be released after the ceremony if you are here.  The students really look forward to this day.

We are already planning for our annual Christmas program in which all the darlings take part.  There is always a huge crowd.  We are currently looking at the possibility of renting the Waxahachie Fine Arts Building for $800 at least.  Every seat is a great seat.  Ms. Tallett is very excited about the possibility!  We are looking for donations to do this.  If you are inclined, send your donation to the school.  It will also work for a tax break.    J

The mornings of this week are filled with SAT testing.  Please see that your darling gets plenty of sleep and a good breakfast.  Also, make sure they are here in plenty of time (not tardy) to get themselves settled and ready to go.  If anyone wants to send goodies to a class, feel free.  Brain food is always welcomed!!

Remember to pray as a family each day.

Get Your SJS Koozie

The school is selling navy blue SJS koozies.  They are in the office and are $1.50 each.  Keep things cool with the school logo.  Get several before they're gone!

Build the Village Ceases Operations

Just in case you missed the news:

For the last two years, Build the Village has been our online partner in fundraising through the St. Joseph Online Shopping Mall.  Build the Village paid us dividends on purchases we made at various online merchants.  Many of you discovered the ease and convenience of buying online and having those purchases earn profit for the school.

Unfortunately, this fledgling company has lost their struggle to stay afloat, being adversely affected by the current economic climate.  For the past five months, even though the organization doubled in the number of participating merchants, its revenue was cut in half due to a decline in spending.

As of September 30, 2008 (today), Build the Village will cease operations.

Join us in prayers for Mr. Thomas Miller and his staff.   We thank all of you who have supported this program!  Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience to you.

Happy Birthday this week to …
